130 Carore for Power devolpment

Hisar...The Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) and the Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam (HVPN) have completed the power development works of Rs. 130 crore on power development in Faridabad town during last over three years, while works of hundreds of crores are in progress. The DHBVN spent over Rs. 119 crore to strengthen power distribution system and improve service in Faridabad town. It added 2371 distribution transformers and augmented capacity of 505 existing transformers increasing the transformation capacity by 202699 KVA at a cost of Rs. 27.79 crore. The total number of transformers in Faridabad has increased to 2876. The Nigam erected new high tension and low-tension distribution lines of a length of 1104 kilometers increasing the total network of distribution lines to 3597 kilometers at a cost of Rs. 17 crore. As many as 21 overloaded feeders of 11 KV level were bifurcated into feeders of proper load and length, conductor of 10 old feeders was replaced with aerial bunched cable measuring 45 kilometers, old conductor measuring 506 kilometers was replaced with new conductor of higher capacity and 15 new 11 KV feeders were erected to raise total number of feeders in the town to 302. Since March 2005, the HVPN has commissioned five new substations and augmented capacity of existing nine substations at a cost of Rs. 11.83 crores to strengthen power transmission system in Faridabad. The new substations include 66 KV substation Escort-I in the town.With the augmentation of power transmission and distribution system and increased availability of power, the DHBVN could increase power supply by 33.50 percent during last over three years.To improve services to consumers, the DHBVN Established a Bijli Suvidha Kendra, which is giving call, center like service to consumers to get registered their power supply related complaints. Vehicles were provided to complaint staff and the staff started attending complaints during night hours also. In Faridabad town, six customers care Centres were started to give single window service to customers for their different works. Bill payment service was improved by providing additional facilities of Easy Bill, TSI M/C, Banks, Online, etc. The Nigam engaged ex-servicemen for meter reading and billing service and system of spot billing was also introduced in the town.
